FRAMINGHAM – City tree pruning starts this Monday, March 10, with some local neighborhoods part of the first area being covered. The pruning will take place “along public right-of-ways to promote safety, visibility, and tree health,” according to a post on the city website. This aims to “ensure clearance for street signs, lighting, fire hydrants, sidewalks, vehicles, and roadways while preserving the structural integrity of our trees.”
Trees deemed to be decayed, damaged, or otherwise unsound may be removed.
The city has been divided into 12 zones for this work, which will likely take about two weeks per area. You can see a map of Zone 1 below.
The weekly city newsletter noted that work will likely take place between 7 am and 3 pm.
