Kick off New Year’s Eve on the Cochituate Rail Trail

The second annual celebration runs from 4:30 to 7:30 pm in Framingham and features fire pits, treats, and more. Natick will also have activities along its portion of the trail.

FRAMINGHAM - Start your New Year’s Eve celebration on the Cochituate Rail Trail this year as Friends of Framingham Trails hosts its second annual festival along the trail.

Enjoy games, singing, activities, and treats along the trail at fire pits hosted by different groups from around Framingham. And, Zippity-Do-Dog will be open for the Rail Trail festivities as well.

Bring flashlights, glow sticks or other illumination to help light your way! The event runs from 4:30 to 7:30 pm on Tuesday, December 31.

Free parking is available at 500 Old Connecticut Path and the TJX Parking lot on Speen Street. There will also be limited parking at 2 School Street in Saxonville.

Note: This is a family-friendly event, and no alcohol is permitted along the trail. Also, please carry out your trash.

If you want to extend your celebration, keep walking along the trail to the Friends of Natick Trails festivities, which also include fire pits and treats. In addition, Natick expects live music performances at the Amvets parking lot by Sonic Cellar (“exuberant covers of iconic new wave, post-punk & indie bands”) and Hit the Bus (“party, rock and dance band”). And, there will be a truck with donuts and lemonade.
