Our neighbors at 28 Griffin Road are once again creating a backyard Halloween walk-through that opens this Friday, Oct. 25. It will also be open Saturday Oct. 26, and then Thursday through Saturday, Oct. 31 through Nov. 2, all days 6 to 9 pm.

From the Facebook post: “Welcome to A Nightmare OFF Elm Street. We are a home-based haunt located at 28 Griffin Road right off Elm Street in Framingham. We started about 15 years ago and have been growing in size dramatically in the last few years. We decorate the front yard and the walk-through in the back yard. . . . We hope you will come and check us out!”

Also in the neighborhood: Pumpkin painting Saturday, Oct. 26, 11 am to noon at McAuliffe Library. “Don’t have the time to buy and carve a pumpkin? Come join us in painting some fake mini pumpkins you can keep year round!” For all ages.

On Halloween, Thursday, Oct. 31, 6:30 to 8 pm, McAuliffe Library will be showing a free outdoor movie: House on Haunted Hill. “We’ll have some treats for a taste of fall before and during the movie,” according to the announcement. “Make sure to bring your own lawn chair and/or blankets to get nice and cozy!” For all ages.
