Still no news yet on the Framingham Library website about whether there will be Thursday night outdoor concerts at McAuliffe Library this year, as have taken place in the past few years. Meanwhile, though, Wayland has announced its 13th annual Community Outdoor Concert Series starting Thursday, June 13.
“Come on out to the courtyard behind the Town Building to enjoy these fun, intergenerational family evenings. Invite your neighbors and friends, bring a chair or blanket, some snacks or supper, and enjoy great music in the great outdoors,” according to the town’s announcement.
The schedule:
June 13, 7pm: The Elastic Five Band, rock tribute act playing music from early rock & roll through British invasion, Motown, ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s
June 20, 7pm: The Deloreans, ’70s and ’80s favorites
June 27, 7pm: The Wayland Daddios, plays well-known R&B, reggae, and rock, plus originals
July 11, 7pm: Sudbury Valley New Horizons Band, adult community band with fare such as The Sound of Music theme, Dave Brubeck’s Take Five, and Star Wars music.
July 18, 7pm: Classic Groove, repertoire ranges from R&B and Top 40 to smooth jazz and Latin.
The “concert series for all ages is brought to you by the Wayland Council on Aging” and sponsors including Middlesex Savings Bank, The Village Bank, as well as support from the Wayland Cultural Council (which in turn is supported by the Mass Cultural Council).
Concerts are canceled in bad weather; check the Wayland town website at https://www.wayland.ma.us/ for any updates.
The Wayland Town building is at 41 Cochituate Road in Wayland, MA.
