The public is invited to come and explore the redesigned Christa McAuliffe Center at Framingham State University (100 State Street) during the center’s grand reopening this Saturday, January 27, from 11 am to 4 pm. Experience the planetarium film Big Astronomy, enjoy live performances of Octave of Light by Multiverse Concert Series, experiment in the Challenger Learning Center, interact with NASA Solar System Ambassadors, and more.
On Sunday, January 28, there will be an official Day of Remembrance at the center to mark the 38th anniversary of the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster. At 11:39am, there will be a moment of silence to honor the STS-51L crew, followed by a live performance of an original composition dedicated to Christa McAuliffe by Dr. David Ibbett. All are welcome to stay and explore the Center’s redesigned facilities and modern, fully immersive learning environments. The center will be open to the public from 11 am to 1 pm Sunday.
