David Gordon has been named District 2’s new School Committee representative following a unanimous vote of the City Council and School Committee Tuesday, local media report. He is director of finance and administration for Westborough Public Schools.
Gordon will fill the vacancy created when former School Committee member Ricky Finlay resigned to take a job with the city. The term runs through the end of next year.
This is the second time in two years that a joint meeting of the City Council and School Committee has filled the District 2 School Committee position. Gordon was a close runner-up last year when Finlay was chosen to replace Karen Foran Dempsey, who passed away in December of 2020.
