There’s a lot of Framingham local news and discussions on Facebook, including informative District 2 sources like D2 City Councilor Brandon Ward and the Friends of Saxonville. But not everyone wants to be on Facebook. What can you do if you’re not on Facebook but want to access those posts?

New: I’ve added pages to District2Framingham.com where you can see latest post excerpts from both Councilor Ward and Friends of Saxonville! Find Councilor Ward’s page at https://www.district2framingham.com/wardfb and Friends of Saxonville’s at https://www.district2framingham.com/fosfb.

Councilor Ward has started posting summaries from City Council meetings on Facebook, including his positions on major issues before the Council, so some residents may find this useful way to keep up with our local councilor’s activities.

You should also be able to click the post headlines and see complete posts without needing a FB account. (You will be visiting Facebook.com if you do that, though.)

Also off Facebook: Councilor-Elect Mary Kate Feeney in neighboring District 3 has a weekly email newsletter, the Ham’er, which covers news city-wide. You can sign up or click through to read the latest newsletters at https://thehamer.substack.com/.

And of course there’s District2Framingham.com! In addition to the email newsletter and website, I’m also on both Bluesky and Mastodon. You don’t need accounts to read complete feeds on either of those platforms. And, both offer free RSS versions of accounts’ posts for those of us who use RSS readers.

There are other sources for city-wide information, such as the official city news feed available on the city website or my email, and media including the MetroWest Daily News (not so easy to find their Framingham-specific stories, though. No idea why they can’t tag their articles by community), and The Frame.
